Unable To View Files Using AutoVue From Web Center Content (WCC), Getting Error: "Illegal character in path at index" (Doc ID 2791921.1)

Symptoms

When using AutoVue 21.0.2 and VueLink 21.0.1 for Web Center Content (WCC), when trying to view a file from WCC using AutoVue the following error occurs in the AutoVue UI:

Error:

java.lang.Exception: Illegal character in path at index XX: dID=XXXXX&Markup_BasedID=0&Format=image/png&Ext=png$>&EditMode=0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Setup AutoVue 21.0.2 with WCC using VueLink 21.0.1.
  2. Add a file to WCC.
  3. Try to view the file using AutoVue.
  4. Notice the error on the UI.
