We are attempting to use a DAL script to set the barcode field on our prints, using the SETFLD function. In 12.5 this was no problem, but in 12.6.4, we are not seeing the barcode show in cases where the barcode string ended with trailing spaces (this can happen if there is no delivery point or zipcode4 available). I confirmed that the system would work if we pad the end with 0s, but USPS specifically requests the barcodes are not padded that way. Finally, we attempted to use a hard space (alt-0160), but the barcodes still did not show in cases of trailing spaces, the Intelligent Mail Barcode (USPS 4CB) format does not know how to convert the hard spaces to the barcode image.
