Details

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C) 12.0 (Version 12.0.4.0.0) was released on July 30th, 2021.

This announcement lists various functional and operational enhancements delivered in this release.

64-bit Capability Enhancement

Release 12.0.2 was already 64 bit in terms of build and in the release 12.0.3 several key elements were extended to support higher range of elements to fit in the 64-bit architecture.

As part of this 12.0.4 release, the following elements are also now 64-bit compliant

• USSD Balance Query
• Balance Buckets
• Grants (Reservation Units)
• Used Service Units

Advanced Control Services (ACS)

Support for FCI- BillingChargingCharacteristics

In OC3C, we support sending FurnishChargingInformation (FCI) in Initial DP. This FurnishChargingInformation will be sent to MSC in the TCAP message.

As part of this release, we can have FurnishChargingInformation [FCI] to be added in a proper format and will be sent in a standard response for InitialDP.

Enhanced SLEE event size for Connect Messages

As part of this release, OC3C supports extending the size of SLEE event if the message length is beyond the allocated size in minimumSizeOfConnectSleeEvent.

When the event size is more than minimum slee-event size, it will get extended till the maximum slee-event size configured.

Support for CAPv1 Roaming

OC3C is already supporting CAPv3 for roaming and non-roaming scenarios where we send "ApplyCharging" to network and receive "ApplyChargingReport" from network.

As part of this release a new SMInap Control Agent (SmInapCA) interface has been developed to provide a solution which supports CAPv1 for roaming calls.

Support of locationInformationEPS parameter to access in Control Plan

OC3C now supports sending locationInformationEPS element in the InitialDP to ACS. This data is available during the control plan execution.

New Error Exit for Number Normalization Feature Node

With this release, a new error exit is added for the number normalization feature node. Whenever the profile field is having a NULL or empty or long value, then Error exit is followed.

User Interface Enhancements

LDAP Authentication for SMS GUI Users

As part of this release, OC3C GUI login has been enabled to get the users authenticated from an external centralized user management server (LDAP).

A user can use his credentials created by his organization(in the organization's centralized LDAP server), to login to OC3C GUI screens.

Password Management for PI Users

As part of this release, OC3C now supports :

• Unlocking and changing password for PI users in SMS UI
• Disable password expiration for PI users in SMS UI
• Error display for PI users after password expiry
• Warning for PI users after crossing grace period

Operational Enhancements

Monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana

As part of this release, you can now use the open source technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring the OC3C services. With this you can have a real-time operational view of the system to monitor and collect reports

Logging using Elasticsearch, Fluentd, and Kibana

With this release, you can now use open source technologies Elasticsearch, Fluentd, and Kibana for logging services in OC3C.

Certification
