What Does "saved in an the existing template" Mean in the "Advanced tab - Import Options dialog box" of the Help Manual (Doc ID 2805236.1)

In reference to the Advanced tab - Import Options dialog box section of the Help Manual, it states that "data already saved in an the existing template will appear under Saved." What does this mean and what is it used for?

Full text from the Help Manual:

"Name: Displays the name of the UDF in hierarchical form grouped by New and Saved. Data that is new in the XML file will appear under New and data already saved in an the existing template will appear under Saved."



  1. Login to P6 Pro
  2. Open a project
  3. Go to File > Import
  4. Choose Import Primavera P6 XML
  5. Click Next
  6. Select file to import
  7. Click Next
  8. Change "Import Action" to "Update Existing Project"
  9. Change "Import to" to the open project
  10. Click Next
  11. Click Edit
  12. Click on Advanced tab
  13. Click UDF tab
  14. See UDFs listed under "New" and "Saved"
