CM Reports Error "could not open pcp context to DM"

- After a customer deployed a new custom code the following errors started to appear in the Connection Manager pinlog frequently
- There are no errors reported by any other components which could be matched by time or type.
- The connections between components (host ip, port number etc) were not changed.
- There appears to be no functional impact to any of the operations.
- This is a multi-schema system with one primary and two secondary schemas
What could be the explanation of the error being observed?
