Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Agile PLM Framework - Version 9.3.6.0 and later
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

Actual Behavior

File Manager server log: agilefm-stdout.YYYY-MM-DD.log has no log generated, even though File Manager is started

Expected Behavior

agilefm-stdout.YYYY-MM-DD.log has log generated

What Is Working

User can upload/download file through Web Client
File Manager Configuration page shows all status successful

Facts

Issue is not resolved after reinstalling Window service for File Manager
There is no difference with server.bat, logging.properties, catalina.properties, server.xml files between the instances where the log is generated successfully and not
Virus checker is running on the File Manager server machine

Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Launch Windows Service console, and restart File Manager server service by starting "Apache Tomcat 8.5 AgileFM" service
2. Check agilefm-stdout.YYYY-MM-DD.log under %Agile_Home%\FileManager\logs. Can see the file is generated, but the file size is 0KB. When opening the file with text editor, the file is blank and do not see any log generated
3. Check File Manager Configuration page by accessing to http://{server_name}.{domain_name}:{port}/Filemgr/Configuration See all the connection status shows 'Success'
4. Log into Web Client, and confirm add/download file is working

Changes

Applied RUP to Agile and upgraded AutoVue for Agile PLM
