ORA-00980: synonym translation no longer valid When Running MDS ETL (Doc ID 2807889.1)

Symptoms

Below error is generated while running MDS ETL:


Error

ODI-1226: Step refresh of MDS_ODI_SESSION_ID fails after 1 attempt(s).
ODI-1228: Task Variable-var_MDS_ODI_SESSION_ID- fails on the target connection TRG_BI_PHYSICAL.
Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00980: synonym translation no longer valid


What is Working

Stage ETL ran successfully



Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. From ODI Studio, run MDS ETL
  2. See the error under
    All Executions > 658 - MDS_ETL_LOAD > Variables >
      11 - refresh of MDS_ODI_SESSION_ID
      12 - Variable - var_MDS_ODI_SESSION_ID
  3. Run below sql:  
  4. Query result shows ODI SESSION_ID as NULL
