Questions Regarding Fonts On Linux (Doc ID 2808220.1)

Last updated on MAY 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Documaker - Version 12.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Our FXR file contains fonts from the basic REL103.FXR plus some fonts we have added over the years. We used to work with Documaker strictly on Windows machines, but we are running ODEE on Linux servers now.

Back when we were Windows-only, the actual file name case did not matter as Windows is case-insensitive. We have some font files that are all uppercase, some are lowercase and then some are a mixture of case. We sometimes end up with error messages about Documaker not finding a font file, even though the file is there.

What is the rule for fonts names on Linux?
Should we lowercase every file name?
Should we lowercase the file name in REL103.fxr?
Is there a published document about this?
