Goal
On Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (NCC) 12.0.2.0.0 version,
Replication issues were observed in production and the initial investigations have shown that the IOT tables "REP_ORA_RENUMBERED MOVE" and "REP_ORA_EVENT" grew in size and were not maintained.
Comparing against a local environment, they determined that the job schedule for sms_defrag_rep_iot was missing, and a check on the extents for those tables showed that they were many hundreds of MB.
To resolve the situation they manually ran the commands from the procedure:
This improved performance somewhat, but not enough to fix the problem entirely. To correct the situation they restarted smsMaster, ran the ONLINE MOVE again and eventually the extents become small enough to be manageable and maintain the performance required.
At this stage it appears that the installation into the remote DB may have been the cause. How to resolve this and is there anything else may have been missed in this process?
