Symptoms

Unable to launch AutoVue for Agile PLM to view file from Web Client with below error when using Microsoft Edge browser:

AgileAutovue.jnlp was blocked because this type of file can harm your device




What Is Working

Internet Explorer 11 can launch AutoVue for Agile without any error


Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into Web Client from Microsoft Edge browser
  2. Open Item, go to Attachment tab, select a file, and View
  3. See popup message:"What do you want to do with AgileAutovue.jnlp?" pops up.
  4. Options "Open" or "Save as"
  5. Select "Open" or "Save As"
  6. Gets message "AgileAutovue.jnlp was blocked because this type of file can harm your device"
