Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Replenishment orders failed to be automatically scaled with error: “A.i=(11) When scaling the order, the maximum scaling iterations value was reached without coming up with a valid solution. The location could not be scaled further. Possible cause of an item being prevented from scaling further include reaching a maximum scaling value, end of season, store is closed, item level minimum or maximum, or the items are exempt from scaling.") when MAX_SCALE_VALUE (item replenishment attribute) is set to a value lower than the desired scaled quantity.

Steps To Recreate:

1. Setup supplier for scaling as below:
scaling objective: Minimum
scaling level: Order
type: Each
Min: 48

2. Setup system options for Maximum Scaling Iterations to 10.

3. Setup item/loc replenishment attributes as below:

method: Min/Max
Min: 12
Max: 36
scaling Exempt: No
Maximum scaling amount: 24

4. Have 0 stock for the item/loc.

5. Execute Replenishment batches.

6. Notice that order got created for 36 units and Order scaling failed with below error:

"A.i=(11)When scaling the order, the maximum scaling iterations value was reached without coming up with a valid solution. The location could not be scaled further. Possible cause of an item being prevented from scaling further include reaching a maximum scaling value, end of season, store is closed, item level minimum or maximum, or the items are exempt from scaling."
