Data Source Save Fails With 'Column <COLUMN> is part of an existing Extract/Definition but is not present in the new SourceModel' (Doc ID 2816558.1)

Symptoms

In Data Management Tools > Data Source, when you edit and save an existing T2T Source, the save fails with the following message displayed:

[665530] Edit failed
[311502] Error validating source model with the previous version
[665536] Check /<FTPSHARE>///<INFODOM>/dmt/source/<DATA SOURCE>/log/<DATA SOURCE>_SMG.log file for more details
 

The following error exists in the <DATA SOURCE>_SMG.log from the directory /<LOCAL PATH>/<Infodom>/dmt/source/<DATA SOURCE>/log:

[24-09-21 14:38:26,283 GMT PM] [DEBUG] [<USER>] [DMT] [SMGHandler]~[writeLog]~So please delete or remove the column from the EXTRACT/ DEFINITION

Note: The "Local Path" directory is listed in WEB_SERVER_INFO.  It is usually defaulted to the ftpshare directory.
