Last updated on NOVEMBER 30, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Following issue exists regardless of volume.
The fcthreadexec batch program has a performance problem when processing Deal Cost Events. The multi-table INSERT statement in the FUTURE_COST_THREAD_SQL. GET_ITEMLOC_DEAL is the reason for poor performance. Note that the FUTURE_COST table is growing steadily each day.

Steps to recreate: (During execution of an RMS batch process)
1) Set fcthreadexec to be multi-threaded (i.e. 16 threads)
2) Create 100+ off invoice deals (single item is ok), along with New Item/Locations, cost Changes, etc.
3) Run fcthreadexec
4) Notice batch is slow and doesn't complete.
