How to Detect when the Connector Configurations are Not Working (Doc ID 2825553.1)

Because of an application bug the Connector Configurations occasionally stop working.  Consequently OHI stops sending messages to OIG, which in turn does not update ORMB with the data.  This can lead to financial impacts if not detected in a timely manner.

To handle  these situations we are planning to create a service that will run a query against the database/API to detect when the process has stopped working, and then call for action.  Is there a known way to detect when something like this occurs?
