Last updated on JANUARY 10, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Revenue Management and Billing - Version 2.7.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On RMB v2.7.0.1.0, Invalid Rate Option allowed for use updating the Price Item in Retention Type Enrollment based.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
If the enrollment price item is updated and rate option is not reset, system allows saving of invalid rate option for that price item even though it is not configured in the pricing rule type.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
---------------------------------
If no Rate option is reset, then system should prevent pricing rules to be saved by incorrect configuration not defined in the pricing rule type.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In Retention Type Enrollment Based Pricing Rule UI, existing Price Item record has Admin fee with a rate option of Per Member Per Month (HCPMPM).
2. Change the Price Item and it pops up a message saying "The price parameters information will be reset...."
3. Choose Cancel
4. Rate Option being shown is not for the correct Price Item. For ex., ASL Limit Price Item should have “Per Member Per Month ASL Limit” or “Per Subscriber Per Month ASL Limit”. But it is not and system allows to save it.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, it causes system to bill ASL limit which is a relatively large dollar figure and negatively affects customer experience.
Workaround is to disaggregate and update rate option. But it needs a permanent fix to avoid this behavior.
