Symptoms
When scheduling in P6 Professional:
ISSUE #1
==========
If the "Log to file" option is enabled and the file location is pointing to a mapped drive, there can be delay with the scheduling operation since PM.exe is writing to the file over network.
ISSUE #2
==========
If the "Log to file" option is disabled (not checked), P6 Professional is creating a "SCHEDLOG.Perf.Log" file in the schedule log location.
This file contains he following information:
- Start Scheduling: $TIMESTAMP
- Before Commit to Database : $TIMESTAMP
- End Commit : $TIMESTAMP
When the schedule log location is pointing to a mapped drive, the act of writing this file can cause overall delay with the scheduling operation. (40-50 seconds)
