Symptoms

The System administrator is not able to reset the password for certain users. In the User Maintenance screen, when they enter a new password and click on Save, the following error appears on the screen:

Invalid request / Error while processing request

Additionally, the following error appears in the SMSService.log from the web server's OFSAA log directory:

[13-12-21 19:47:47,951 GMT PM] [DEBUG] [WEB] [SMS] [NA] [OFSAASECURITYVALIDATOR] Configured Request param :: createdDate
[13-12-21 19:47:47,953 GMT PM] [ERROR] [WEB] [SMS] [NA] [OFSAASECURITYVALIDATOR] Error while validating OFS_AAI_SMS_date_exp value : null | ex = ValidationFramework: Invalid input. Please conform to regex (0[0-9]|1[0-2])\/([0-2][0-9]|3[0-1])\/[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]( ([0-2][0-9]|2[0-4]):[0-5][0-9]:[0-5][0-9] [AP]?M)? with a maximum length of 4
[13-12-21 19:47:47,953 GMT PM] [DEBUG] [WEB] [SMS] [NA] [OFSAASECURITYVALIDATOR] Vaidated :: OFS_AAI_SMS_date_exp value: null return flag: false

In 8.1.x versions, a blank screen may appear instead of the above error message.  Additionally the following error will appear in the SMSService.log from the web server's OFSAA log directory:

[07-07-23 11:14:02 AM] [DEBUG] [WEB]  [SMS] [SMSSERVICES] Request For Validating New Passwords
[07-07-23 11:14:02 AM] [DEBUG] [WEB]  [SMS] [SMSSERVICES] Error in validating new Password UNKNOWN_ERROR

This prevents the system admin from changing passwords.
