Goal

Is Unified Communications Suite, specifically Messaging Server, supported in a mixed installation architecture?

There is a plan to upgrade a current infrastructure consisting of Messaging Server 8.0.1 on a Solaris/SPARC platform, to the latest version on a new environment (brand new servers with a mailbox filesystem migration).

Will Messaging Server still be supported if the front-end servers (webmail, pop3, imap and smtp) are moved to vmware/Linux and the back-end servers (calendar/contact and mailbox servers) remain on a Solaris/Sparc platform?

Does this require a change in the licensing?
