Why is CCB v2.6.0.1 Control Central Sorting Differently From CCB v2.3.1? (Doc ID 2853124.1)

Goal

The returned records in both CCB v2.3.1 and CCB v2.6.0.1 on control central is limited to 300.  Because of this limit, not all premises for an address criteria are returned on cases where there are a large number.

There seems to be a difference in the explicit sorting of the query in CCB v2.3.1 and CCB v2.6.0.1 resulting to a different set of 300 that is returned. 

We would like to know the reason behind this change in sorting.
