Last updated on AUGUST 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 12.0.0.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Session Management Function (SMF) responds to tariff time change with trigger of TARIFF_TIME_CHANGE. The Tariff-Time-Change Attribute-Value Pair (AVP) is sent from the server to the client and includes the time in seconds since January 1, 1900, 00:00 UTC, when the tariff of the service will be changed.

During the tests, user noticed this event trigger (TARIFF_TIME_CHANGE) is neither read not considered by Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) for usage accounting.
Customer used a payload which has multiple arrays of usedUnitContainer out of which one has tariff trigger set and the other one without trigger. As a result, ECE is not considering the array items for accounting of Usage.
