Multispeak SCADA Adapter Disconnecting From CORBA Publisher (Doc ID 2865138.1)

Last updated on MAY 16, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Network Management System - Version to [Release 2.4 to 2.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : version, Adapters, Multispeak

The managed server where the Multispeak adapter was deployed had a number of corba Gateway errors & stops/restarts

It seems that it is losing communication to the NMS core product and then it stops its responsible interfaces (ie AMR, AVL, & SCADA), then the connection appears to be restored and things reconnect, but then the behavior repeats.
This is preventing the interfaces from properly starting and coming to steady-state.

The log had entries similar to this:
2022-03-22 07:45:17,415 T54 WARN common.StartupBean:242 [] - Connection to NMS is lost
2022-03-22 07:45:17,416 T54 INFO avl.AVLBean :242 [] - stop: 394636258

It is expected that when the MultiSpeak SCADA adapter breaks connection to SCADA, it should reload its configuration and list of SCADA points, and then successfully reconnect to the SCADA system.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. In the PUBLISHER_SOURCES table set active flag to 'N' for the 'scada-controls' entry if it is present.
  2. Fully restart NMS system (services, WebLogic, clients).
  3. Deploy MultiSpeak SCADA adapter and verify that it operates correctly.
  4. Issue command 'Action -java multispeak.SCADA reload'.
