Error: Revision-Specific Relationships Are in Use, and the Revision Attribute Cannot Be Disabled (Doc ID 2882911.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 24, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Agile Product Collaboration - Version 9.3.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Below message shows up when attempting to disable Revision field in Item Relationships tab:

Error

Revision-Specific Relationships are in use, and the revision attribute cannot be disabled until all existing relationship data for Parts is resolved. All Revision-Specific relationships must be resolved to a single ALL to ALL relationship. That is, in cases where there are multiple relationship rows (one for each revision of the same object), those relationship rows must be resolved to one single ALL to ALL relationship row. After the Revision-Specific relationship data has been resolved, then you can disable the revision attribute.

Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into Java Client as admin user, and go to Admin tab > Data Settings > Classes > Parts > User Interface Tabs > Relationships
2. Go to Attributes:Relationships tab, and open Revision field. Change Visible from 'Yes' to 'No' and Save
3. See the Error Message pops up in the Java Client UI

Changes

Item.Relationships.Revision field was enabled in the past, and now being disabled
