Error 'Failed to load ImportOptionsTemplate Data' When Importing a Primavera XML File in P6 Professional (Doc ID 2884400.1)

When importing some Primavera XML files using a template in P6 Professional, the following error occurs (some other XML files import successfully using the same template).

Failed to load ImportOptionsTemplate Data

Original Exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. In P6 Professional, open a project and export it in Primavera XML format.
2. In the export options, choose to exclude Project Layouts and baselines, and do not compress.
3. Quit and relaunch P6, and login to another P6 database.
4. Import the newly-created XML file.
5. Leave Import layouts unchecked.
6. Import the file using a preset import template.
7. The import fails with the reported error.
