Error "Item: 137672 does not exist" and Functions Are Not Calculated (Doc ID 2891223.1)

Symptoms

After several new items are created, functions are not calculated on some of them and the following error occurs.

Item: ###### does not exist.

On checking the database, the item is present.

The Prosight log file shows multiple errors around the time of the item creation, for example:
