On demand Read Activity Failing on MDM prod and getting rolled back from OOB algorithm

We have seen intermittent issue where On demand read scalar activity is getting rolled back and stuck in pending state due to unhandled exception received from OOB script "check command eligibility D1-CHKCMDELG" from validate state. Upon further investigating by analyzing MDB logs, JAVA BS "D1-DetermineEligibleCommands" invoked under the script is failing at line number 385 in the Java code with error "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal character in name: 'D1-HowToCreateActivityOBComm '."
