Symptoms

When merging an 8.1 OFSAA data model item with your custom model in Erwin Data Modeler, you get the following error:

A supertype-subtype relationship cannot be established between two subtype entities that belong to same or different supertype group.

 

This error prevents you from completing the merge.

You may also get this error when adding more than one "super class" tables (BASIC_INSTRUMENT_REQ, CASH_FLOW_PROC_REQ, LEAF_COLUMNS, etc.) to your new custom table.
