pin_ctl Not Showing The Correct Status (Doc ID 2901599.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) version 12, you start and stop BRM components by using the pin_ctl utility. You can start and stop individual components, or start and stop multiple components in a specified order.

 

Each instance of the pin_ctl utility is configured by a pin_ctl.conf file that contains data about the BRM components running on the system.

The default pin_ctl.conf file is configured to start BRM system components only but custom components can be configured as well, see the documentation for more details.

 

There is a known issue when the pin_ctl script is showing the configured services as "NOT running" but when checking manually with the OS command "ps -ef" they are actually running.
