Symptoms
Cannot access to Java Client on Agile 9.3.6 with below error:
Error
Failed to validate certificate
The application will not be executed
In the detail stack trace of the Details, see message "java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: denyAfter constraint check failed: SHA1 used with Constraint date"
Steps
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Access to Java Client URL: http://{server_name}.{domain_name}:{port}/JavaClient/start.html
- Click Launch
- Gets message "Failed to validate certificate"
- Click Details
- See the stack trace below:
Environmental Detail
- No RUP applied on Agile 9.3.6.
- Client Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) version is 1.8.0_351
- Issue happens even with below settings in the client JRE:
- Security Level is High and URL of Agile Application Server is included in the Exception List in Java Control Panel > Security tab
- Perform signed code certificate revocation checks on is set to "Do not check (not recommended)" in Java Control Panel > Advanced tab
