Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
Exporting a P6 project to MS Project XML type, then opened and saved in MS Project as XML then imported back into P6 Professional results in a critical UDF error.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
No error occurs during XML import after exporting a project to MS Project XML type, opened and saved in MS Project, and imported back into P6 Professional.
ERROR
WARNING: UDFType 'userField242' will not be imported, as the match is found but the DataType field does not match.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced using the following steps:
- In P6 Professional, add an Activities UDF code as Integer Type.
- Display and add Activities UDF code values.
- Export the project to MSP XML format, using Custom Field Mapping to map Activities UDF code (Integer) to Number1.
- In MS Project, open the new MSP XML file; add and display mapped Activities UDF codes.
- Select File > Save As and save the project as an XML file.
- In P6 Professional, import the MSP XML as a new project.
- Observe the reported error.
