Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.22.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Enhancement Request:
The user requests the proration functionality to be configurable in case of service balance transfer. The basic option for the “old” and “new” bills would be:
• Do not charge for this cycle
• Calculate the charge based on the amount used
• Charge the entire cycle
This configuration should be applicable for both the “old” and the “new” bill.
“old” mentioned as “Source” of the Service Balance Transfer and “new” mentioned as the “Target” of the Service Balance Transfer.
Here are some examples using some combinations of the above configuration:
1. “Calculate the charge based on the amount used” for both “old” and “new” bill
Assuming Product A with monthly charge €10 and a service balance transfer on the 11th of a billing month (assume April):
Charges for “old” bill:
10/30*€10
Charges for “new” bill:
20/30*€10
2. “Charge for the entire cycle” for “old” and “Do not charge for this cycle” for “new” bill
Assuming Product B with monthly charge €20 and a service balance transfer on the 11th of a billing month (assume April):
Charges for “old” bill:
€20 (Full)
The user is requesting the same behavior for transfers from one account to a different account, and for transfers from one billinfo to another billinfo of the same account.
Current behavior:
1. Transfer from one account to different account - proration is enforced regardless of the proration setting.
2. Transfer from one billinfo to another within the same account - This is based on the date of transfer, no proration. Any new charges for the transferred services are applied to the new bill unit after the transfer date, and any existing charges for the services that occurred before the balance group was moved are associated with the old bill unit.
