ClickOnce Deployment Tool (Primavera.Deployment.EPPM.exe) Fails to Open, and a '.NET Runtime' Error Displays in the Windows Event Viewer (Doc ID 2920818.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to run Primavera.Deployment.EPPM.exe in order to configure an on-premise ClickOnce deployment, the application does not open and the following error can be seen in the Windows Event Viewer:

.NET Runtime

Application: Primavera.Deployment.EPPM.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.IO.FileNotFoundException

Exception Info: System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Download the P6 Professional ClickOnce installation media zip file to a local drive on the staging computer and extract all files to the C:\source folder on the staging computer.
  2. Double-click Primavera.Deployment.EPPM.exe.
  3. The application does not open.
  4. Open the Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application list and view the reported error.
