Goal

Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) coherence cluster lost partial customer data from caches, this happened when processing traffic without additional steps.

Scenario:
1. Lost Customer data from MAIN site when trying to delete Cache data from SharingCustomerState cache,
2. Recovered from Disaster Recovery(DR) site, restarted traffic - lost Customer data again
3. Recovered from DR, restarted traffic, slowly rising throughput. lost Customer data again, Coherence cluster was clearly rebalancing as node after node servers were going down.

Re-started ECE and loaded data from database to recover the data.

What is the root cause of data loss?
