Unable to Upload/Download File from Web Client, File Manager Log Shows "File Manager Initialization failed", "Reason :Uncaught exception thrown.The server sent HTTP status code 502: Bad Gateway" (Doc ID 2949618.1)

Symptoms

Unable to upload/download files in Agile.
When attempting to upload the file, File Uploader manager shows "Error".


See File Manager service is failing to start with below error in File Manager log:

*** File Manager Initialization failed ***
Reason :Uncaught exception thrown.The server sent HTTP status code 502: Bad Gateway

The failure could be attributed to:
1. The Application Server is currently Unavailable
2. File Manager is not configured correctly - [Admin -> Server Settings -> Locations -> <File Manager Entry>
  -> File Manager Internal Locator] must EXACTLY match the above-mentioned File Manager URL
3. File Manager Entry has been DISABLED or the setting is incorrectly specified
4. ifsuser username/password may not be correct.

Facts

app.server.url in server.conf found under %Agile_Home%\agileDomain\conf points to Web Proxy URL


Steps

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to Web Client
  2. Go to My Settings > Attachment tab
  3. Add, Browse for files, and select the file, and Upload
  4. File Upload Manager shows up, and see the status of the selected file shows "Error"
  5. Go to File Manager server machine, and check File Manager log (catalina.out or agilefm-stdout.YYYY-MM-DD.log) under {Agile_Home}/FileManager/logs, and see the "File Manager Initialization failed" error
