Updation Of Network Entity Code For LD Failing If DI Terminated To Connectivity (Doc ID 2952223.1)

Last updated on JUNE 02, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management - Version 7.5.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

1.) We have 2 LD with NEC associated with them and each LD have DIs of any rate code. Lets say 1Gig. LD1 is associated to NEC1 and LD2 is associated to NEC2.
2.) Connectivity is created between 2 LDs and DIs terminated. Rate Code of connectivity is 1Gig. Configuration is completed.
3.) Now try changing NEC of LD1 from NEC1 to NEC3. On Save and Close UIM will throw error
For the above Logical Device, we cannot change the Network/Entity Location or delete the Logical Device itself because it has active consumers.

Ideally UIM should support following-
a. Disassociating the Old NEC from LD
b. Associate new NEC with LD
c. Update all the connectivities in UIM (A end / Z end Network Entity location) based on search Old NEC and Replace with new NEC function, keeping other parameters unchanged.
