Unable To Modify Sequence of Tasks in Task Maintenance Window (Doc ID 2969529.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 31, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In some situations, it is necessary to change the displayed sequence of tasks for an order to have them displayed in a logical order.  We are finding multiple instances where the tasks cannot be reliably moved using the Move Up and Move Down arrows in the Task Maintenance window.  Selecting a task and using one of the arrow buttons causes the task to move up or down many rows, or may move other tasks around the list as well.  This does not occur with every order, but it seems that once we find it for a particular order, that order can never be have the sequence updated.  Repeated attempts to move tasks only cause the list to get further out of the desired sequence.  We have verified that no duplicated sequence numbers exist for the impacted order, however repeated attempts to move tasks may result in duplicated numbers being created.

In the Task Generation window, Task Gnatt and Task List tabs, when users move the task sequences for the below scenarios the application moves the task multiple steps instead of one step up or down.
1. Relate two orders and then assign provision plans
2. Pick a child plan for a NEWTASK and add a child task at the same time
