Import of Large XML Files to P6 Professional Hangs After File Selection (Doc ID 2973876.1)

When importing large XML files (20 - 30k activities), the P6 Professional client application hangs for up to an hour and ten minutes (depending upon the XML file size) just after the file selection and before clicking next.

There are no error messages, and after some time, it is possible to click next and successfully import the XML file.

The issue is present after upgrading from Primavera P6 EPPM R17.12
