Symptoms

When configuring SAML 2.0 Web Single Sign-on Identity Provider Partner in WebLogic admin console for SAML2.0 integration with Agile, WebLogic admin console throws below error message.

java.rmi.ServerError: A error occurred the server; nested exception is: weblogic.utils.AssertionError: ***** ASSERTION FAILED *****[ error unmarshaling throwable ]
Error Create operation failed - no partner created.




The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login to WebLogic admin console as superadmin user.
2. Click Lock & Edit.
3. Click Security Realm.
4. Click AgileRealm.
5. Click Providers, click [AgileSAML2IA], and click the Management tab.
6. Click the New drop-down and select [New Web Single Sign-On Identity Provider Partner].
7. Enter a name in the [Name] field (e.g. WebSSO-IdP-Partner-1) and then select the Identity Provider (IDP) XML metadata configuration file which you received from the IdP, then click OK.
8. Gets error in WebLogic admin console.
