The Option “Use scheduling options from” Does Not Work as Expected When Multiple Projects Are Open in P6 Web (Doc ID 2984032.1)

In P6 Web, when scheduling multiple projects and changing the scheduling option Schedule > Settings > Use scheduling options from, the scheduling options used will default to the first project in the drop-down menu, instead of the option set in the selected project.


The project selected in Schedule > Settings > Use scheduling options from will be the project whose schedule settings will be used for all projects.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6 Web.
  2. Go to Projects > EPS.
  3. Open multiple projects with different scheduling options.
  4. Go to Activities page.
  5. Click Schedule.
  6. Click Settings tab.
  7. For Use scheduling options from, select a project that has different scheduling options set than the first project on the list.
  8. Click the Schedule Project tab.
  9. Check the box for Display scheduling log upon completion.
  10. Click Schedule Now button.
  11. Notice that the Scheduling Option Conflict box does not appear.
    • This box states "There are multiple projects open which have conflicting scheduling options. Do you want to schedule all open projects using the scheduling options configured for...".
  12. Scheduling completes and, from Scheduling log, notice that the scheduling options are set to the options for the first project in the drop-down list and not the selected project.
