Discrepancy in The Tax Split at Jurisdiction Level (Doc ID 2998405.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 23, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 12.0.0.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The user has a scenario where there is a need to split the tax amount into multiple tax jurisdictions, hence it was configured to split into 4 jurisdictions. The total tax is 9.5%, which is split into four parts: SALES TAX 5%, TAX FUND 2%, TAX OTHER 1.50%, and CANCER 1%.
The tax balance impact of 208.22 and the below jurisdiction splits are done in Billing and Revenue Management (BRM).
1) JURIS-1: 109.59
2) JURIS-2: 43.84
3) JURIS-3: 32.88
4) JURIS-4: 21.92

Upon summing up these splits, the total comes to be 208.23, which is 0.01 more than the tax balance impact. This is causing tax reconciliation issues for financial requirements.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure tax for 4 jurisdictions in the tax code map
2. On Jan 1, create an account with a purchase fee event product
3. On Feb 1, do billing
