Not Able To Send CCR-I To ECE After Success Response Of CCR-E (Balance Query) For Voice MO Call (Doc ID 2999423.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 12.0.6.0.0 and later
Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 12.0.6.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On environment running Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC-3C) 12.0.6, in which OC-3C is integrated with Oracle Communications Elastic Charging Engine (OC-ECE) for rating of DIAMETER traffic (via Diameter Charging Driver (DCD)), during "Voice MO Call" OC3C is doing Balance Query (see avpCode = 248) by sending CreditControlRequest-Event (CCR-E) (Event_Type = 4) to ECE. Upon successful response for CCR-E (Result Code 2001), OC3C is not able to send CCR-I (initial) request to ECE.
To be noted this is happening for subscriber having actual ECE balance as 1 TB (TeraByte).

The following error is logged in slee_acs log covering relevant call:

Customer updated the data balance in ECE to different values, to find the threshold below which OC3C is allowing the call.
They found that till 2GB it is ok at OC3C, beyond that value it is failed.
