Symptoms
When attempting to import an XER Project in P6 Professional connected to a SQL Server database, the process hangs and the Critical Error below occurs. After logging back into P6 Professional, the project displays as added but has 0 Total Activities.
ERROR
PRMDB-1742-E , PRM DBAccess Error: SQL State: 1, SQL Error Code: 3621
String or binary data would be truncated.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Using P6 Professional client.
- Login connected to a SQL Server database.
- Import customer XER project file.
- Result: P6 hangs with Event Code error.
- Next, re-login to P6 Professional.
- Result: the XER project is added with 0 Total Activities.
