Application Crashes With Error Number 12 After Clicking Equipment Spec's Position Details -> "Numbering..." or "Relationships..." Options (Doc ID 3022771.1)

Symptoms

MetaSolv Solution version 6.3.1.788

The application crashes with an Error Number 12 when clicking on an Equipment Spec's Position Details -> "Numbering..." or "Relationships..." options. The behavior occurs on all Equipment Specs.


Recreation Steps

1. Application Setup.

2. Inventory Management Setup.

3. Equipment Specifications.

4. Search for and open any equipment specification.

5. Select the Mounting Positions tab.

6. Enter a number value in the Mounting Positions field and click the grey area under the column names.

7. Click the "Pos Details..." button and select the "Numbering..." or "Relationships..." options.

 

NOTE: The application will crash with the same Error Number 12 for either option. However, there will be differences in the underlying events, objects, and scripts listed in the error message window (see below).

Error Number 12.
Error text = DataWindow column type does not match
GetItem type at line 27 in open event of object w_mountingposition_numbering_scheme..
Window/Menu/Object = w_mountingposition_numbering_scheme.
Error Object/Control = w_mountingposition_numbering_scheme.
Script = open.
Line in Script = 27.
