Rating Considering End Time Of CDR Instead Of Start Time While Usage Processing In ECE (Doc ID 3039888.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 12.0.0.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Rating is being calculated based on the end time of the Call Detail Record (CDR) instead of the start time during usage processing which is causing the usage to be assigned to incorrect billing cycle and affecting the consumption from the wrong balance bucket.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
For example, a CDR with a start time of 20th May 23:30 and an end time of 21st May 00:15 is being rated based on the end time. Consequently, the usage is being allocated to the next billing cycle (20-May to 20-Jun), and the consumption is being drawn from the next month's balance bucket.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Rating should be based on the start time of the CDR. In the given example, the usage should be assigned to the current billing cycle (20-Apr to 20-May), and the consumption should be from the current month's balance bucket.
