After a Fresh Install ORA-12203 is Returned Trying to Login to Oracle Clinical - Thesaurus Management System (Doc ID 304562.1)

After a fresh install when trying to login to TMS the following error is returned:

ORA-12203 TNS unable to connect to destination.

It is possible to login to the database using the SQL*Plus executable under any of the oracle home directories e.g.
  • Oracle\806
  • Oracle\isuites
  • Oracle\9iDS
which confirms that the SQL*Net set-up is correct.
