Application Fails to Start with Error "Unrecognized option: - Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine." (Doc ID 3053229.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to start application the following error occurs.


-Djava.util.logging.manager=oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager weblogic.Server
Unrecognized option: -
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Start application from command prompt
