5G CHF To Support The SGSN NodeFunctionality Along With The RATTypes As UTRA/GERA (Doc ID 3055433.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 28, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications BRM - Elastic Charging Engine - Version 12.0.0.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It was identified that ECE is currently supporting 32.299 V 16.5.1 for 5G SA implementation. In current project, customer is integrating with Mavenir and expectation is that they will need to use v 17.
Main reason for v 17 is that, 2G-3G RAT type and SGSN routing node functionality with UTRA/GERA values for their IR scenarios.

The below is the business requirement:

CHF Side for 2G/3G RAT Type support
Here are the relevant RAT type values:
UTRA: Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (3G)
GERA: GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (2G)
and also SGSN NodeFunctionality to be supported
All related parameters and functionalities related over N40 interface.

To support 2G3G, Rel-17 (e.g. TS29.512) has defined new parameter, "sgsnAddr" to set SGSN address.

Is it possible to adapt ECE so it will support 3GPP TS version 17 and necessary 2G/3G RAT type and SGSN node functionalities over the N40 interface?
This update should include support for all related parameters and functionalities defined in the new specification.
