BRM - RE Loader: The Hostname Has Priority Over the Database Service Name. (Doc ID 3057789.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 12.0.0.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The hostname (defined in infranet.rel.dbhost) takes precedence over the database service name (defined in infranet.rel.db_service_name).

Consider the HA Configuration for REL:

CL2: Primary cluster with BRM database in R/W mode.
CL1 and CL3 are secondary clusters with read-only mode.

The hostname (given in infranet.rel.dbhost), such as CL2, takes precedence over the database service name. This presents an issue when CL2 goes into read-only mode.

Should the connection be made using the DB Service name (given in infranet.rel.db_service_name) such that it connects to the cluster with the BRM DB in R/W mode at the time?
