Enhancement - To Have the Ability to Release Planned Orders Based on Dock Date (Doc ID 3058369.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning - Version 12.2.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The goal is to release a planned orders from Workbench aligned by Dock Date - aka the Need By date on the released Internal Requisition (IR)
However, the Implement Dock Date is greyed out field and user cannot enter a date. Only the Due Date can be entered/changed using the field New Due Date - which then re-calculates a New/Implement Dock Date based on the item's Post processing Lead Time (Post-PLT)

Business scenario:
The shipping person who schedules shipments from Hub to Spoke Warehouses performs the release from the Workbench with the goal to efficiently load a single truck or container when shipping the Internal Sales Orders(ISO).
-- Post-PLT is in place to accommodate QA validation + other handling times in days, and to give cushion for business to plan supply in spoke location, before the due date for the demand.

Example: Planned Orders for release
Item  Sugg Due Date     Post-PLT  Sugg Dock Date   IR NeedBy Date  ISO Ship Date (2 days Intransit)
A       18-NOV                 5            13-NOV               13-NOV                11-NOV
B       18-NOV                 3            15-NOV               15-NOV                13-NOV
C       18-NOV                 4            14-NOV               14-NOV                12-NOV

When a shipper/receiver can only release using due date, they cannot achieve the goal to put all orders in single truck and improve the efficiency and reduce cost of transportation.
