Users Assigned Incorrectly When Importing Records via MS Excel into Different Projects Using the Shell Picker (Doc ID 3063334.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 12, 2024

Applies to:

Primavera Unifier - Version 23.12.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL ISSUE:

A Business Process (BP) is configured to Auto Create records in a different Shell. The configuration is set to add users to groups based off of User Pickers values added in the source BP records. When the source BP records are created through Microsoft (MS) Excel import, the records are created correctly and the users are added to the correct groups. However, if there is more than one record imported, only the first record is Auto Created correctly in the destination Shell and BP. The other source records show Auto Creation error codes in the BP record audit log. It seems to be related to the need to add the users to the groups. If the same file is used to create new source BP records, and the users are already added to the groups, all destination records get created.

EXPECTED ISSUE:

All the appropriate destination BP records should get created and the users added to the appropriate groups without issue.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. In the source Shell and BP, export the import template.
  2. Open template in MS Excel and added data for more than one record.
  3. Import MS Excel file into source Shell and BP.
  4. Notice that all records in the import file are created.
  5. Check the audit log for the first record imported and notice that there are no Auto Create errors.
  6. Check the audit log for all other records imported and notice there are Auto Create errors with error codes in the audit log.
  7. Navigate to the destination Shell and BP.
  8. Notice that only one record was Auto Created.
