Goal

There are multiple lookup tables in extended cache in production. These tables data require to be refreshed frequently as part of operations activity. Need to understand how these tables data can be refreshed without restarting DGW, ECS etc. processes during operations. Followings are the two cases:

1. When the data lookup is performed directly from the custom tables in extended cache
2. When the data is loaded into maps during the processes are getting up initailize() block

Is this the only way(DB persistence mode enable ece restart) to update the ece cache or any other method to refresh custom table data in ece cache ?
Also, in the production, restart of ece with persistence mode is not advisable then is there any other method to refresh the custom table data in ece cache?

Abbreviations :

DGW - Diameter Gateway

ECS - Elastic Charging Server

ECE - Elastic Charging Engine
